Justin Wallace, father of 16-year-old Jack ‘Jacko’ Wallace, said they were planning to hold a private funeral to farewell his son next week. Jack was killed in the South Island’s worst crash in two decades, shortly before 7.30pm on Saturday, at the intersection of Seadown and Meadows roads in Washdkye. His friends Javarney Drummond, 15, Niko Hill, 15, Andrew Goodger, 15, and Joseff McCarthy, 16, also died. The 19-year-old driver, Tyreese Fleming, who was on a restricted licence, was the sole survivor. Wallace was a recent student of Roncalli College.
