About Jackie Carrier

Well, I am big as a barn and can't breathe and this is after I quit smoking 4 years ago Sept 6. I am working to better all of my health problems.

I love my family very much, each and every member. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren.

The hardest thing I ever did was sing at my Mom's funeral. I knew she loved to hear me sing as she did all of us, so I had to do it! My brother and one of my sisters was going to help me sing "How Can I Help You To Say Goodbye" but they didn't get there in time. I couldn't listen to that song for almost a year afterward. Now I can listen to it and I love the song.

This is what I love to do besides spend time with the people I love;

A bit of news if anyone is interested.

I have an appointment to go to a seminar so I can start learning about the Lap Band Surgery and then going to have it and lose some of this weight so I can breath again. I have to go back to the Dr. again Tuesday to check my sugar again. It seems that I have gained enough weight that I may be diabetic now. I would appreciate any and all prayers.

My sugar was down when I went back to the dr. and he told me that I am not a diabetic. I was very happy to hear that.

The Weight Loss Surgery Seminar I went to was very educational and I am now trying to get the paperwork done so that I can find out if I'll be able to have the Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Banding done. In the mean time there are a lot of things I have to do to prepare for this surgery and I am trying really hard to lose some weight on my own. We;ll have to see how successful I am with that. I have to lose a little weight for the surgery anyway. So I am going to see what I can do. I still would appreciate any and all prayers concerning this.

I am going to the Dr. tomorrow to get him to sign the paper I need to send in with my paperwork so I can have weight loss surgery. Wish me luck, Everyone.

I went to the Dr. and got my paper I needed and got something I didn't want. He checked my sugar again while I was there and it was high and he told me I am diabetic. Now I'm hoping for the weight loss surgery even more, if I lose weight the diabetes will go away. I need lots of prayers so please say one for me before you go to bed tonight. Love you all!

I went to my first all day appointment which is Pre-Op today. Everything went pretty well. My cholesterol is a little high but not too bad. I had a psychological evaluation also. Guess what! I'm not crazy!!! Lmao

I should know in a couple of months if I am Insurance approved. When I will go for another all day appointment when I will meet my surgeon and a few other things. I should be approved by the insurance companies. Everyone wish me luck.

April 16th I was taking a shower ran my hand along the underside of my left breast and felt something strange. I thought "What the hell?" I then put my hand back there and felt a lump in the bottom part of my breast. I called the doctor, who was already gone for the day, later that day to get an appointment. The doctor got my message the next morning which was Friday and later that day they had me an appointment with him set up for the following Monday at 11:40.

I went to see my doctor on Monday and they had an appointment set up for me at the Saint Joseph Breast center for the very next morning. I went to the Breast Center and they did a diagnostic mammogram, which by the way is very painful, and then moved me to another room so they could do an ultra sound. The doctor walked in and introduced herself and said, "Mrs. Carrier, I'm afraid I have bad news, it looks like cancer. I've never seen anything that looked more like it."They set up another appointment for me for April 30th, which was my anniversary, to talk with a surgeon and to have a biopsy done.

I went to the appointment on the 30th and talked with the surgeon and had the biopsy done, and was told that they would call me on Friday with the results. Friday came around and Dr. Kenny called and told me it was just as they had suspected. So I will be having surgery May 20th to remove the tumor.

I ask that you all pray for me and my family that this will be taken care of and I won't have to worry about it any more. I feel pretty confident that they will be able to get it all.

I had a lumpectomy today and a lymph - node test as well. The test was negative, which is a very good thing. The Dr. told Davey that he got all of the tumor and that it was a big one. I got to the hospital at 5:30 this morning and I was home by 12:00. I am glad this much is done now.

I have an appointment with the Dr. next Wednesday and he will set up radiation treatments then I think. Well, this much is done and I'm waiting for the rest to come on along so I can go forward with my Lap Band. I am fine, although very sore.

I want to thank everyone who prayed for me, I am very, very grateful! I love you all!

As of April 24, I think, I am cancer free after several months of torture due to chemo and radiation. During this time I was told in November 2009 that my Dad had brain cancer. Jan 5, 2010 my Dad lost his battle with cancer and went home to be with our Lord!

I have been cancer free for 2 years! Hallelujah!!!
