Jacob Cooke emigrated from Plymouth early in 1740 and settled at Mendham. In 1767 he moved to Hunterton County, NJ, and then in 1773 to Washington County, NJ, along with Demas Lindley. Jacob settled on Lower Ten Mile. Jacob and Demas built the Lindsley Fort. RIN: MH:N95
