Jacob B. Deihl, 74, of 1505 Longs Gap Road, Carlisle, died Sunday, Jan. 11, 1998 in Carlisle Hospital.
Born June 1, 1923 in Carlisle, he was a son of the late John and Sarah Hollenbaugh Deihl and the widower of Gladys Enck Deihl.
He was retired from Dickinson School of Law and Carlisle Area School District.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 86th Division in the European and Pacific theaters of operation.
Mr. Deihl was a member of American Legion Post 101, VFW Post 477 and Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 1299, all of Carlisle.
Surviving are two sons, John of Shermans Dale and Stephen P. at home; a daughter, Helen Matter of Halifax; a brother, Paul C. of Carlisle; a sister, Mary Bear of Carlisle; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Arthur; and three brothers, Kenneth, Lester and Wil.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hoffman-Roth Funeral Home, 219 N. Hanover St., Carlisle with the Rev. Charles Milliken officiating.
Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.
