-------------------------------------------------------
Jacob Heinrich. Born in Rostock the 12.02.1637 + in Glückstadt in April 1704 in, buried in Wilster (?). Professor of anatomy at the University of Copenhagen; abandoned medicine for history and diplomacy, author of numerous books; he represented Denmark in many countries, notably in London (England) were he had a brilliant diplomatic career. He was Justice Counselor near the end of his life. He was ennobled the 19th of August 1698 by the King of Denmark, Christian V, under the name of PAULLI de ROSENSCHILD. The following point is noteworthy; the arms accorded to Noble families were, setting aside the crowns, the arms of the family Paulli. Those figure on an old etching representing Simon "the Older."
Apparently, in this era, certain distinguished, not noble families had their arms. The original brevet of nobility, in Latin, is preserved in the Archives of the Royal State of Denmark (the name is spelled in Latin): PAULLI de ROSENSCHILD. Jacob Heinrich had married Elisabeth Apollinia Rheder, daughter of Dr. Jurist Johannes Rheder, lawyer, and Margaretha Dorn, the 13th of September 1682.
