Jacob Hooper was born in c. 1799 in Altarnun, Cornwall, England, United Kingdom the son of William Deacon Hooper and Margaret Dowe. He married Selina "Catherine" Lavinia Peters and they moved to Australia.
DEATH OF AN OLD COLONIST.--There lately died at Salisbury, at the age of eighty-two, another old colonist, Mr. Jacob Hooper, who arrived on the Isabella Watson in May, 1846, with his wife and eleven children and settled at Bowden, where he resided the greater part of his colonial life.
His descendants - children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren - number 106.
South Australian Register (Adelaide, SA) - July 1 1882
Jacob Hooper was a shoemaker. His child, Elizabeth Ann, died December 28, 1863, aged two years. His wife, Catherine, died January 30, 1877, at the age of 75.
Mount Barker Courier And Onkaparinga And Gumeracha Advertiser (SA) Publication: July 11 1930
I think it can be assumed that Catherine married John Hooper and had a child John. John died at age 28 and she resided with his brother Jacob, started a family and emigrated to Australia, possibly without a formal marriage.
1841 England & Wales Census - Jacob Hooper
Baptism:
The marriage shows as John Hooper not Jacob.
Jacob (name shown on baptisms) and Salena (Catherine) had the following children 5 years after marriage to first child, see other possible birth bellow:
