About Jacob "Horse Creek" Miller
Jacob Miller, born about 1780, was the son of Peter "Horse Creek" Miller. His mother was thought to be Mary Broyles. Jacob inherited his property from his father as listed in his father's will written in 1801 and posted in1809. He is listed in the 1830 census record in the Horse Creek, Tennessee area next to Michael Broyles, his brother-in-law.
It appears that Jacob was married before he married Elizabeth Rebecca "Betsy" Rimel / Rymal and had a number of children. So far, with DNA, we have found these children with "Betsy" - Lucinda, Mahala, Washington, John and George Wesley. Jacob did not accompany "Betsy" to the reading of his mother-in law's will in 1841. So, it appears that he died before that time. In the 1940 census record only his wife Elizabeth is accounted for. We do not know exactly where he was buried.
