Funeral Held Monday for Jacob Johnson

(died 1 Oct 1966)

Funeral Services were conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, in the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Shafter, for Jacob J. (Jake) Johnson, 81, of 312 Terra Vista, Shafter. Pastor M. E. Heinrich officiated and burial followed in Shafter Memorial Park.

Mr. Johnson was born August 30, 1886, in Mordan, Manitoba, Canada, the son of John and Sarah Johnson. He moved to North Dakota, and on December 23, 1915 he married the former Sarah Voth.

Mr. Johnson was a long-time resident of Shafter, having moved here in 1923. He had worked as a janitor before his retirement.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah, of the home address; one son, Clarence Johnson, Bakersfield; four daughters, Leona Stone, Edmonds, Wash.; Mabel Dice, Merced; Wilma Rowles, Bakersfield and Lou Emma Herron, Bakersfield; three grandsons; six granddaughters; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbears were Eugene Johnson, Dan Toews, Ervin Toews, Dean Voth, Gerald Sexton and Ben Voth. Agee Family Funeral Home, Shafter was in charge of the arrangements.
