Jacob McIndoo was the only child of John McIndoo and Charity Heady McIndoo. John and Charity moved from Pennsylvania to Kentucky about the time Jacob was born. John Jacob's father was killed by Indians about the time Jacob was born. Charity remarried to Robert Sturgeon in Kentucky

BIRTH: Jacob was born (probably) in Fayette Co, Pennsylvania just before his father John McIndoo, mother Charity Heady McIndoo and he left with the Heady family for Kentucky.

DEATH: During the winter of 1821-1822, Jacob contracted a disease from which he never fully recovered and he died in August of 1827 in Bartholomew Co., IN.

PLACES LIVED: Born in Pennsylvania. Mother married a second time in Bourbon Co., KY. At 14 yrs he apprenticed as a cabinet maker in Bardstown, Nelson Co., KY. At age 21, opened his own business and married in Shelby Co., KY. In 1810 he moved his family and stayed in Floyd Co., IN near Jeffersonville. Vallonia (now in Jackson Co., IN.) and was there from 1811 to 1820. In the spring of 1820 moved to Bartholomew Co., IN by Edinburg. In the fall of 1820 he moved in Bartholomew Co., IN by present day Columbus.
