Origins

Jacob Mumma arrived in America from Rotterdam on 10 Sep 1731 abord the ship "Pennsylvania Merchant".

Jacob arrived in 1731 with no wife and three children: Jacob, Margaret, and Frederick. Some records seem to prove the Frederick was about one year old when they arrived. Jacob died intestate in 1748. There is no record of his marrying again altho most men left with small children did. This could account for John of Daulphin born 1736 who was too old to be his grandson.

Jacob obtained a Warrant, dated 23 Aug 1746, for 184.6 acres of land in West Lebanon County. In 1771 this property was surveyed and and patented by John Heisey that same year. Patent #AA-11-616. Lancaster Co., Deed Book abstracts.
