Military Service
Service: 1 Dec 1776 - 10 Mar 1777 Cpt Samuel Davis (Davidson) Co, 1LT William Tissue, attached to Col George Woods, Regt of PA Militia.
Service 1 May - 31 Oct 1778 under Cpt James Wilson, 1LT Oliver Drake, attached to Col Wood's Regt. The whole period of service was 8 mo, 10 days as a Militia man. 1 Oct 1778, hired brother Benjamin Rush as a substitute. Jacob states that he was born in NJ, 19 Mar 1755 and lived in Bedford the time of his service and continues to live on the same farm, now Somerset Co.
