BURIAL: Jacob Slusher Cemetery,Laurel Branch, Floyd, Virginia, USA Following is the will of Jacob Slusher as recorded in Will Book D pg 329 in the Clerk's office, Floyd County, VA

In the name of God Amen I Jacob slusher of Floyd County, Va. being of sound and disposing mind and memory weak 1n boyly health do make this to be my last will and testament as follows, first I desire that my body my be decently buried and all my funeral expenses and just debts be paid second I give and devise unto my two sons Jeremiah Slusher and Frances M. Slusher all my land lying south of the following described line, Beginning at a locust and hickory on the bank of the west fork of Little river at or near the foot log and just above the fence thence a strat line to a corner of a fence in a branch one rod north of a double maple marked for pointers in side of T. M. Slusher's line and I give and devise unto my son Oliver P. Slusher all of the lower and of my land in duden my saw mill up to a large red oak now dead near the saw mill pond supposed to contain about fifteen acres fourth I give and devise unto my Executor hear after mentioned one acre of land in eluding my school house sade acre to be lade of in a square lot for school purpose and Publich worship my said Executor to have full controle of said house and lot Fifth I give and divise unto my beloved wife Telithe Slusher all the remainder of my home tract or parcel of land not hear to fore devised to my three sons duron her natural life. I also give and bequeath unto my sade beloved wife Telithe all my house hold and kitchen furniture all so two milk cows the choyes out of my stock five head of sheep four hogs and my executor hear after named shall sell all my property both real and peranal not given nor divised to others and after paying debts and charges devide the proceeds between my one children and grand children, it is my will and deseir that after the decease of my beloved wife Telith that my Executor hear after named do sell the land or real estate given and devised to my said wife Telithe duron life and convey title to the purchaser by proper deed and out of the proceeds of the said sale pay to my three grandchildren the children of George W. Slusher deceased namely Analiza, Lucinda, Catherine, Sarah Lovina Slusher two hundred fifty dollars and the remainder of the proceeds of sade last mentioned sale by made and devided between my three sons Jeremiah Slusher, Frances M. Slusher, Oliver P. Slusher each taken one shear and my grand children the heirs of John P. Slusher one one shear and my grandchildren the heirs of George W. Slusher, namely Analiza Slusher, Lucinda Catherine Slusher and Sarah Levina Slusher shall hav one shear in adetitions to the two hundred and fifty dollars hear to fore given in this will and I do hear by nominate and appoint my two sons Jeremiah Slusher and Francis M. Slusher to be the Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby revoke and make void all former and other will by me at any time or times here to fore made and do here by declare these presents to be and contain my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said testator Jacob Slusher hav this my said last will set my hand and seal this 9th day of August 1871.
