he married Catathrina Erasmus.

His father Jacobus (who is the actual b1 was born in 1738 and died in 1765, 

having had one child by Maria van Aarde

1 His father Jacob marr Maria van Aarde on 8/11/1762, Jacob was born 1/5/1764 from Catharina van Aardt,

   the SISTER of Maria. This is clearly shown on the DEATH NOTICE of  Jacob van Straaten lodged on 

  1/8/1851 giving his age as 87yrs 1mth 23days., and parents Jacob van Straaten and Catharina van Aardt. 

2 This Death Notice caused the CORRECTION of previous information which said that Jacob van Straaten,

    born in 1738 died in 1851 age 103.
