Jakob was a merchant and he lived in Kirf.

Do not merge with Jakob Hayum who married Deborah as these are not the same.

• ****************************************** From Ann Mayer Eisen: Please do not attempt to merge this Jakob Hayum (About 1838) and Jakob Hayum (26 Jul 1828 Kirf, Trier-Saarburg, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany - 06 Sep 1897 Kirf, Trier-Saarburg, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany). This Jakob Hayum is my great great grandfather according to interviews with my grandmother Cacilie Hayum Mayer (1901-1995) who knew her grandparents. Unfortunately I did not get details of birthdate and death dates so I have denoted his birthdate as “About 1838” by the ages of his children. This information is also corroborated in research from Monica Metzler, an amateur historian and genealogist in Trier, Germany, who researches Jewish communities in that area.

Many people have these two Jakob Hayum’s as the same person and his children and wives commingled incorrectly.

My great great grandfather Jakob Hayum had one wife Deborah (maiden name unknown) and they had 3 children: 1. Joseph Hayum II (06 Dec 1859 Konen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany - 19 Jul 1925 Konen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany) 2. Nanette (27 Nov 1862 Konen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany - 22 Nov 1942 in Terezin) 3. Isaac (Konen, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany - unknown dates)

Emma Hayum Kahn is here on Geni as Jakob Hayum (About 1838) and Deborah’s daughter but to my knowledge this is an incorrect relationship and she is also likely not the daughter of Jakob Hayum (1828 - 1897) either.

Jakob Hayum (1828-1897) was married to Johanna Johannetta Levy and had 10 children: 1. Sara Hayum (1859 - 1942) 2. Elizabeth Hayum (1861 - 1893) 3. Elias Hayum (1863 - 1935) 4. Theresa Hayum (1866 - 1945) 5. Siegmund Hayum (1868 - 1922) 6. Carl Hayum 1870 7. Fanny Hayum (1873 -1939) 8. Marks Hayum (1875 - 1942) 9. Raphael Hayum (1877 - 1917) 10. Ferdinand (1883 - 1940)

However, there is some connection between these two Jakob Hayums. Joseph Hayum II, son of Jakob Hayum (About 1938), married Karoline Samuel, niece of Jakob Hayum (1828-1897) and my great grandmother.
