Jakob Kunkel, II

When Jakob Kunkel was born on May 6, 1827, in Seligenstadt, Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany, his father, Peter, was 31 and his mother, Maria, was 28. He married Elizabeth Hildebrand on October 30, 1854, in Seligenstadt, but no record has been found to date. They had nine children in 22 years. He died in 1912 having lived a long life of 85 years. Jakob had four sons called Johann Adam, Johann Conrad, Peter, and Johann Michael. Three of them married in Seligenstadt and had descendants. Michael's lineage obviously died out. There are no more descendants of Peter's lineage either. The Kunkels today that live in Seligenstadt have Johann Adam as their common ancester, like us. He had 9 children, of which 6 were sons. One of them was Peter, our ancester. Peter had 5 children, but only his son Jakob had his own descendants. Jakob Kunkel emigrated to the US along with his family. Only Philipp 1 remained in Germany, who later moved to Froschhausen, but his son Philipp II moved back to Seligenstadt. Jakob Kunkel and Elizabeth came back to Germany in 1905 to stay the eve of their lives in Froschhausen, Germany.
