"James Alfred Wilcox was born at Cedar Fort, Utah, October 10, 1877. He was the third child of Samuel Allen and Annie Christina Petersen Wilcox. He was blessed by his grandfather, Ole Petersen, December 6, 1877. He was baptized November 1, 1885, by James Rodeback and confirmed the some day by his father, Samuel Allen Wilcox. Jim, as he was known, grew up in Cedar Fort. ... Somewhere along the line he received the name of "Posey". He did very much as all the young people his age did, going to school and participating in whatever recreation and entertainment was offered. He would accept any employment, whether it was to his liking or not, rather than be idle. He was a conscientious worker, always giving his employer a full days work. In his mature years he engaged in farming, some mining, railroading, and chicken-raising. Jim was a source of great joy to his mother in her last years."

He married Beatea Agnes Matthews on 15 June 1911 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah. They later divorced and she married Thomas Marion Adamson.

"During the construction of the Geneva Steel Plant he lived with his sister Mary in Lehi, and commuted back and forth to the job. When that job was finished he went to Tooele Ordinance Depot where he has been employed the past few years. He stayed a short time at his sister, Martha's and when his niece, Eliza Calton Zentner's husband, went into the service, he went to live with her and her three children to help relieve the loneliness. At the present time (1949) he is living again at Martha's."

"Jim loves children and likes to see them happy. From early youth he has enjoyed dancing and is still one of the best dancers. He has made a great many friends and has a personality that keeps them friends always. He is a favorite uncle among his nieces and nephews and shares their joys and sorrows. We hope to have him with us as long as he desires."
