Note about children:
We have two James Armstrongs here, a father and a son, both born in Brookeborough, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, both married Campbells, and both died in Paxtang, PA. This lends itself to an epic case of inter-generational confusion.
Many children that are said to be the sons and daughters of the elder James probably are in fact the children of the younger James. The trick is figuring out which is which.
One notes a very large gap in the birthdates of these children; while the eldest is born in 1684, there is a noted cluster in the first quarter of the 1700's. These children probably belong to the younger James.
