Mr. and Mrs. Elkin. of 8, St. Ann street, Hanley, have received information that their son Pte. James Beresford, of the 1st 5th North Staffs. Regt., died of wounds on the 22nd of November. Pte. Beresford was in the Territorials before the outbreak of the war, and was 20 years of age. He was formerly employed at Messrs. Howson and Son's, Hanley, as a dipper.
