About James Boyden
Information from Alan Nolan: - (Great great-grandson)
James had been working as a Railway Labourer at the time of his death. An inquest was held in Wolverhampton regarding the incident that occurred in Stafford St. An extract from the Wolverhampton Chronicle dated 22nd October 1856 reads:- ACCIDENT ON A RAILWAY,--Yesterday (Tuesday) morning a man named James Boydell, in the employ of the Great Western Railway Company, at the Cannock Rd Wharf, was knocked down by an engine, and so much injured that he died shortly afterward. The inquest found that the fractures and bruising that James received resulted in his death, which was classed as an Instant Accidental Death. James's death was registered on 29th December 1856 over 2 months after his death. William Moss Phillips was the Coroner for Wolverhampton. Jame's surname is spelt wrong but it is James.
