James W. Branstetter
KENTON, Jan. 20 - Funeral services for James W. Branstetter, 79, prominently known McGuffey man who died early today, will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at the McGuffey Methodist church with Rev. Arthur, pastor, in charge. Burial will be in Preston cemetery near Alger.
The body will lie in state at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday. It was removed to the Preston funeral home in Ada and later taken to the home of a son, Henry Branstetter of McGuffey. Branstetter died at his son's home after an illness of several years.
He was born in Marion-tp, Hardin-co on March 8, 1860 and had lived his whole life in the vicinity. Surviving are four sons, Jess of Miles, Mich., Henry of McGuffey and Ben and Lyman, both of Columbus; two half-brothers, Lyman Conner and Ben Conner, both of Ada; two half-sisters, Mrs. Allen Edwards of McGuffey and Mrs. George Stambaugh of Ada, and 13 grandchildren.
