Revolutionary War Soldier. Enlsited 11/4/1775 and discharged 7/18/1776. Was a Private in the 2nd Regiment, South Carolina Continental Line under Cmdr.Col. Marion. James enlisted in the 1st Regiment under Capt. Thomas gadsden in 1780, this unit fought with Marion's Men, the Swamp Fox in South Carolina.
