James was Exec. to his sister, Agnes's Husbands estate.

James probably married Sarah around 1755-1759. James was deeded 200 acres from his father, James, Sr. and Judith in 1758, Lunenburg Co, Va. He in turn sold this to his son, Thomas in 1768 and bought 500 acres in Pittslvania Co, from Henry Clay,1772. In 1801, they sold their land in Pittyslvania Co., and followed their sons, Benjamin, James, & William out to Kentucky. James Jr. died in Pulaski Co., Ky. in 1814, leaving a will he dictated to his sons on his deathbed. His wife, Sarah, was still living at this time, but had died by 1820.

Dec. 10, 1798, Pulaski was created from parts of Lincoln and Green Co. to be effective June 1,1799. The new county was named for Count Casimir Pulaski who had been mortally wounded in the Rev. Was on Oct 9,1779 during the battle of Savannah, Ga.
