Heber's First Mayor Is Dead At 81; Was Store Head

HEBER, Oct. 16 - (AP) – Funeral services will be held Sunday for James W. Clyde, 81, prominent sheepman and civic leader who died Friday.

Clyde was Heber's first mayor in 1902 and served again in 1908 and 1910. He was a member of the state house of representatives, in 1899 and served as a state senator from 1820 to 1924, for 10 years he was president of the Bank of Heber City, for many years headed the county school board and was a former president of the Wasatch Irrigation company, the Strawberry Grazing company and the Wasatch county fair board.

He was also president of the Heber Co-operative Mercantile Company.
