About James Collings, Jr.
GREAT BEAR LAKE PIONEER PASSES
PARIS, Idaho James Collings, 86, a pioneer of the great Bear Lake valley, and one of the oldest residents of Paris, Idaho, died at his home here Friday evening.
Mr. Collings has had a noted career. He was born Jan. 3, 1845 at Bedford, England. and emigrated when a boy of nine years old.
He has been living in Paris since 1856. He was a government mail carrier from Franklin to Paris in the early days.
He was married in 1874 to Frances Rich, daughter of Elder Charles C. Rich. Of his eleven children, the following survive: Mrs Parley Parrish, Centerville, Utah; J. W. Collings and Mrs. Charles Johnson, American Falls, Idaho; Charles R. Collings, Bountiful, Utah; Mrs. Milo Anderson, Grover, Wyo.; Mrs. A. J. Anderson, Fairview, Joseph Collings, Paris, Idaho; John Collings, Los Angeles, Cali.; Mrs. F. Pack, Kamas, Utah.
Funeral services will be held in the Paris First Ward chapel, Nov. 24 at 11 A.M.
