Descendant of Richard Cutting.
James Cutting was born at Watertown, Massachusetts on January 26, 1648, son of RIchard and Sarah (Unk) Cutting. [1] [2]
His occupation was cordwainer. [2]
Later in life he must have had financial difficulties as he was sued several times and in 1711, lost lands that he had mortgaged and had to forfeit other land that was put up as surety. [2]
He married Hannah Coller at Watertown on June 16, 1679 [1] [3][4] Hannah was born about 1659, daughter of John and Hannah (Unk) Coller of Cambridge and Watertown, Massachusetts. [2]
On June 13, 1721 James asked for exclusion from attending church due to 'being gouty and infirm'. [2]
Their death dates are unknown.
Military
James served in King Philip's war in Captain Davenport's company from November 25, to December 3, 1675. [2]

James born on March 24, 1679/80 [1]; died at Lebanon, Connecticut about July, 1648; married Dorothy (Unk). [2]
Jonas born about 1651 at Watertown [2]; died in the fall of 1748 at Shrewbury, Massachusetts; married Dinah Smith. [5]
Richard born at Watertown on Decmeber 10, 1683; no further record. [1] [2]
Thomas born on November 10, 1685; died at Lebanon, Connecticut by December 16, 1754, when his will was proved; married Mary Nobles at Watertown on December 10, 1706. [1] [2]
Jonathan (twin) born on January 12, 1687/8; died at Watertown on May 29, 1754; married Sarah Flagg on January 5, 1709. [1] [2]
David (twin) born on January 12, 1687/8; married Elizabeth Wales on October 13, 1712; lived at Lexington. [1] [2]
Hezekiah born on February 17, 1688/9; died after March, 1733/4; married Mary Hagar on March 24, 1713/4. [1] [2] [5]
Aaron born about 1691; died after June, 1737; married Mary Knapp at Weston on March 20, 1718/9. [2] [5]
