About James Dysart

Biography James Dysart was one of the three first settlers of the south-western part of Randolph Co., Missouri. He was from Kentucky and came to Missouri from Tennessee, where he had lived for 16 years, in 1818, locating at first in the Boone's Lick country and then coming to Randolph County in 1819. His wife before her marriage was Miss Martha Cowden. He subsequently moved north of Huntsville, where he died in 1853, aged 76, and his wife died the same year. They had four sons with only two of them living in 1884: James who resided in Macon Co. and Nicholas who resided in Randolph Co. The other two sons were Robert who died in Saline Co., and John who died in Howard Co.[1]
