James FREEMAN was born c1767
He was convicted of highway robbery and sentenced to 7 years transportation to Australia. James arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on "Alexander".
James received the first official pardon in the colony, provided he became the first Official Hangman of the colony.
In 1792 he married Mary EDWARDS and they had 2 children.
James died 28/1/1830 at Windsor
