About James Grant of Auchterblair
James Grant of Auchterblair was the illegitimate son of James Grant of Logie & Ardneidlie, so he was not the son of his father's first wife Catherine Rose, as often stated. His fate is unknown but he is not the James Grant who was captured at the Battle of Worcester (1651) and deported to America.
