About James 'Jack' Albert Gregory
James parents came to Crawford County around the Civil War era. He was reared in Lick Creek and Matlock communities. James and brother-in-law , Avery Baulkham, deeded property and help build the old log Matlock School. Most concerned of his children's education, he served on the local school board. James was a farmer and wood cutter by trade and often had to be away from home to provide a living.
