About James Loudon

ames Loudon (Den Haag, 8 juni 1824 – aldaar, 31 mei 1900) was een Nederlands liberaal koloniaal bestuurder en minister in de negentiende eeuw. Hij was voorstander van hervormingen in Nederlands-Indië.

On 17 December 1874 he was elevated to the Dutch nobility and granted the hereditary prefix of Jonkheer.

He held the office of Minister for the Colonies [The Netherlands].

He held the office of Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies [The Netherlands].
