About James Hunt Lucas, Marine
James was an Ensign with the NSW Corps and arrived on Norfolk Island in March 1794, where he formed a liaison with Sarah Griggs. He was described as short, fat & good humoured. He fathered 2 children to Sarah - James Hunt Lucas born 1795 and Mary Ann born 1798. He , Sarah , James Jnr & Sarah Jnr came to Sydney in November 1795, however they returned to Norfolk Island in October 1796, but were back in Sydney by April 1798 when Mary Ann was born. James appears to have returned to Norfolk Island, he died there in August 1800. James received a Land Grant (No.224) of 100 acres at Petersham Hill Sydney.
