About James Macon
James Macon (1792-1808) was a son of John Macon & Elizabeth Bowdoin.
According to court records, he was buried on his grandfather William Bowdoin's farm where the body was disinterred for an autopsy and re-interred. It was determined that he died of a skull fracture that became infected after being hit in the head with an iron cooking vessel by his step mother Susannah Needham Macon.
He was 15-16 years old.
