About James Laurence McGinnis
Jim was captain of the Marquette (WI) football team in 1924 when they went undefeated and won the national championship. Knute Rockne of Notre Dame fame said Jim was one of the best fullbacks he'd ever seen. Jim went on to play pro football for two years for the Milwaukee Badgers.
In 1930, he was a practicing attorney and was appointed by the governor to be municipal judge of Polk County, WI. He was the youngest judge ever to be appointed in the state.
