James McKnight

James was born in 1841. He was the son of Samuel McKnight and Jane Campbell (who married May 18 1838 in Ballyroney, Down). He married Jane McPake 1862 in Dalry, Scotland. He arrived in Port Chalmers, Dunedin on 18 Jan 1870 aboard the "Christian McCausland" after travelling from Scotland without his family. He passed away in 1909. He was was buried in Blackstone Hill Cemetery, Central Otago.
His Y-chromosome haplogroup is I-M223 according to the DNA test of his son's son Matthew Gemmell McKnight
