James Nitchman

Jim was adopted, as a child by his father's, Aunt Nellie and her husband Charlie Nitchman, as a child. Jim's birth father, Alexander v. Magee and his birth mother had separated/divorced. Al tells the story that he was working, some time out of town and Charlie and Nellie were caring for Jim. According to Al they were all living in the same building. Nellie put a notice in the newspaper that he had abandoned Jim and petitioned to adopt him. The petition was granted. Al and Jim remained in contact until Al's death. I know that Jim also remained in contact with his birth mother (Isabel) until her death and that he had a half sister, Betty. I remember visiting Betty with Jim on at least one occasion.
