Son of Utah Pioneers Ole Peterson and Maren Hansen Peterson. Married first Elva Anne Messersmith 5 December 1887. They had three daughters, Julia Lydia, Erma, and Elva Ann, before his wife died in 1893. He married second Maria Elizabeth Peterson 22 February 1899. They had children: Maren, Laura Jane, Sharon Ole, and Glen Peterson.
