MARY P. FISHER PASSES AWAY AT MAESER TUESDAY
Mary Peterson Fisher, 79, wife of the late Moroni Fisher and a pioneer of the Ashley Valley, died at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Joseph Bodily in Maeser at 3:16 a.m. Tuesday morning following an illness of several weeks, arising from complications due to age.
Mrs. Fisher was a faithful Latter-Day Saint and has held positions in the Primary and Relief Society in various wards of Uintah Stake. She was a continuous worker as a Relief Society teacher until her ill health prevented.
Mrs. Fisher, had she lived until next Monday, would have been 79 years old, having been born February 14, 1859 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. With her parents she came to Utah in 1863 and the family finally settled at Cedar Fort. Her father was Ole Peterson and her mother Maren Hansen Peterson.
She was married to Mr. Fisher on September 30, 1875 in the Endowment House in Salt Lake. Ten years later in 1885 they moved to the Ashley Valley and helped in building this progressive community.
Eight sons and daughters survive, Mrs. Alice Bodily, Mrs. Jane E. Hardy, both of Vernal; Mrs. Elsie Hall Tabor, Canada; James Fisher, Fort Duchesne; George Fisher, Altonah, Mrs. Nellie Eaton, Vernal; Don Fisher, McKinnon, Wyoming; Mrs. Hattie Miller, Salt Lake City; one sister, Mrs. Inger Anderson, Lehi; fifty grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Maeser, with Bishop Lester Bingham presiding. The Swain Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

Mary Peterson is the daughter of Maren Hansen and Ole Petersen. She married Moroni Fisher September 30, 1875 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
They had thirteen children: Mary Alice Fisher Bodily, Jane Elizabeth Fisher Hardy, Mable Annie Fisher, Laura Ellen Fisher, Elsie Pearson Fisher Hall, John Moroni Fisher, William Ole Fisher, James Henry Fisher, George Elmer Fisher, Orin Elwin Fisher, Nellie Merle Fisher Eaton, Don Carlos Fisher and Harriet Ameresine Fisher Miller.
