Wesley enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces on 13 September 1916 & served as a Private with
14 Battalion. His description at Enlistment was:
Age: 20 years 8 months
Height: 5 feet 9 1/2 inches
Weight: 159 lbs
Chest Measurement: 36 / 39 inches
Complexion: Fair
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Fair
Religious Denomination: Methodist
He embarked from Melbourne on 16 December 1916 aboard the HMAT "Medic" & arrived at
Plymouth England on 8 February 1917. Wesley proceeded to France on 22 May 1917
