James Sandilands, 5th of Calder

Biography

Sir James Sandilands 5th Laird of Calder was born at Calder, Scotland.[1]

Sir James Sandilands was the son of John Sandilands lVth of Calder and Cristian Dundas. Sir James and Margaret de Kinloch obtained a marriage license on 25 July 1463; Date of dispensation for being related in the 4th degree. At this date, they already had children.[2]

Sir James Sandilands an Margaret Kinloch had the children:

• 1. Christian (Jamesdaughter) Sandilands . married Andrew (Robertson) Anstruther of Anstruther
• 2. John (Jamesson) Sandilands 6th of Calder (died before 13 Feb. 1493/94).

Sir James Sandilands married secondly Margaret Kerr, daughter of Andrew Kerr (Ker?) of Auldtounburn (Altonburn?) and Cessford and Margaret Tweedie. Margaret Kerr married ca-17.Mai. 1509 secondly William Hay - 4th Earl of Erroll.

Sir James Sandilands and Margaret Kerr had the children:

• 1. Margaret (Jamesdaughter) Sandilands - Married 1. to Robert (Alexanderson) Bruce the 1st of Auchenbowie (born about 1495 - died 10.Sept.1547) - She Married seconly Laurence Oliphant 3rd lord of Oliphant.
• 2. James (Jameson) Sandilands (Died before 15 Mai 1534) - Married 17.Mai.1509 Catherine (Williamsdaughter) Scott
• 3. Jennet (Jamesdaughter) Sandilands (born about 1487? - - Married to William (Georgeson) Dishington of Ardross .
• 4. John (Jamesson) Sandilands (Died before 10.Mai.1521), he lived at Gart Carron in Lennox , Scotland.
• 5. Peter (Jamesson) Sandilands (Died 4.Mai.1549), He was rector in 1526 at Calder, Midlothian, Scotland.

Sir James Sandilands died before 1505.[1]
