James Sandilands was born in Scotland.
James Sandilands was a Pennsylvanian.
James Sandiland (also spelled Sandeland, then changed to Sandlin) was born in 1646 in Hilderston, Linlithgowshire, Scotland. He was Christened on Feb 28,1647 in Mid Calder, Midlothian, Scotland. He immigrated to the American Colonies by 1664 as he married Annika “Anna” Jergensen Kyn in Upland, Delaware, British Colonial America.
He was a prosperous merchant and notably one of the few non-Swedes living in the New Swedish settlement along the Delaware River in Pennsylvania in the 1660s.
Their seven children are:

- Christian (1672-1694)

He is buried 11 April 1692 at St Paul's Episcopal church, Chester, Pennsylvania, British Colonial America. His widow, Anna, remarried to Peter Baynton (-abt.1710) (an English immigrant) and they had a daughter, Rebecca (Baynton) Weston (abt.1693-). Anna was buried with James after her death however, and "An elaborate slab of gray sandstone was located opposite the pulpit" to mark their last resting place. [1]

Anna Keen was married about 1668 to James Sandelands, an English soldier of Scotch birth who obtained a 200-acre patent on Upland Creek on 4 Aug. 1668 and his discharge from the army in 1669. He died in Chester, 12 April 1692, survived by his wife, two married daughters (Eleanor, wife of George Foreman, and Catharine, wife of Jasper Yeates) and five minor children: Christian, Mary, James, Jonas and Lydia. Anna then married Peter Baynton (English) in 1692 and had an additional child, Rebecca, born c. 1693/4. Her second husband deserted her and returned to England. Anna was buried 5 Oct. 1704 at St. Paul’s Church in Chester, beside her first husband.

William was born in 1600, in Caldour Castle, Mid Calder, Livingston, West Lothian, Scotland. Elizabeth was born in 1615, in Hilderstoun, Scotland. James had 2 sisters: Elizabeth Sandilands and one other sibling. James married Anna Annika Sandilands (born Keen Kyn) at marriage place, Delaware. Anna was born in 1639, in Oxford, Chester, Pennsylvania, United States. They had 7 children: James Sandilands, Eleanor Foreman (born Sandelands) and 5 other children.
