"James Stoddard, born September 24, 1756, worked as a Boston shipwright. In addition to his role in the tea protest, he served in Captain John Cushing’s company in the 36th Regiment where he rose to the rank of captain; he was in the march to Ticonderoga under General Washington. He later died March 11th, 1833."
