While the English judge Clement Spelman did have a son named James, no evidence found so far suggests that he married a woman called Martha or that she sailed to Virginia and had a son there around 1650. If this profile relates to a real person, his parents may probably have to be found elsewhere.

Son of Clement Spilman (?) and Martha Mason. Married Mary Flake. Father of Thomas Spillman.
