James L. Timoney, Sr.

LOWELL - James L. Timoney Sr., 39, a Lowell resident who had worked for plastic companies in Chelmsford and Billerica, died Monday, Dec. 13, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a battle with cancer. He was the husband of Christine M. (Pattelena) Timoney, with whom he would have celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary on June 1.

He was born in Jersey City, N.J., on Jan. 2, 1965, son of Starr (Sanders) McAdam of Houlton, Maine, and the late Eugene Timone. He grew up in East Millinocket, Maine, and graduated from Schenck High School in 1983.

Mr. Timoney moved to Lowell in 1992. He started working at Plastic Design in Chelmsford, and later joined Plastic Concepts in Billerica until illness forced his retirement.

Mr. Timoney was known for his talents as a woodworking craftsman and he enjoyed making various projects. He was also an avid sports fan.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons and daughter, James L. Timoney Jr., Joshua J. Timoney, and Crystal L. Timoney, all of Lowell; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Joseph E. Timoney of Houlton, Maine, Jessie Taylor and his wife Lisa of Medway, Maine, and Kenneth Knapp and his wife Sherry of Oakfield, Maine; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Tootie Britton and her husband Mark, and Faith McAdam and her partner Brent Carmichael, all of Houlton, Maine.

Mr. Timoney also leaves his father-in-law, John J. Pattelena Jr. and his wife Barbara of Cape Neddick, Maine; his mother-in-law, Adele L. Reilly and her husband William P. of Greenville, N.H.; three sisters-in-law, Lauri O'Brien and her husband William of Burlington, Andrea Comeau and her husband Matthew, and Melody Reilly, all of Greenville, N.H.; his wife's grandmother, Florence E. Manduca of Salem, N.H.; his stepfather, David McAdam of East Millinocket, Maine; as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends. Published in Lowell Sun on Dec. 16, 2004
