James Webb, son of John and Mary (Sanford/Standiford) Webb, was born 9 August 1673 and died in 1716 in Essex County. He married Sarah Pickett who was said to be Sarah (Pickett) Fullerton d/o Henry Pickett. She married 1) James Fullerton and lived South Farnham Parish, Essex County, Virginia. (in will Essex Co.,VA 1716-17. VA Colonial Abstracts Vol.III and IV plus deeds Essex Co.,VA page 716)

According to James Webb’s will he left four children:

James: Will, [Richmond County, Virginia will book #5, pgs 614-615] " In the Name of God Amen I James Webb of Richmond County being Sick and Weak but of Perfect memory, Doe appoint this my last will and testament.-- I give my soul to God who gave it my body to the Earth its original. Hoping at the day of resurrection I shall be ordaind to life eternal through the mediation and intercession of my Saviour Jesus Christ. And first I desire that my body may be buried in a decent manner and my funeral charges be paid by my executors and all other debts whatsoever due from my Estate. And as to the other part of my Estate I leave as followeth


Item. I give to my beloved wife Betty Webb, two gold rings and one siver ring and one large black trunk and boxiron to her and her heirs for ever- Item. I leave to my aforesaid wife the use of one half of my land and my negro man Kingston and half the houses on my aforesaid land and half the orchards and the best feather bed and furniture and two cows and two ewes and four Genl(sp) chairs and two dishes and six plates two potts and hooks a spinning wheel and cand..[.apalo apiggon (sp)and iron spit where smoker](all before in [ ] was unclear) a small black trunk and chamber pott and one third part of all my hogs and one small looking glass to her during her widowhood
Item. I give my daughter Ann a bed and furniture a cow and calf one ewe a box iron and heators a dish and two plats a small chest and spinning wheel and cards one pull and hooks and two chairs a spit to her and her heirs for ever.
Item. I give to my daughter Sarah one bed and furnitire one iron pott and hooks to her and her heirs forever.
Item. I give to my daughter Mary five shillings cash. --- Item. I give to my daughter Judy five shillings cash. --- Item. I give to my son John my negro wench and child his paying my son James seven pounds cash to him and his heirs for ever.--- Item. I give to my son James seven pounds cash in the hands of his brother John and one cow and calf one ewe and .(?)...and two chairs and half my riding clothes to him and his heirs for ever.--- Item. I give to my son Joseph my land and plantation he allowing my aforesaid wife the use of one half of the said platation during her widow hood and after her death or marriage the whole plantation I leave to my aforesaid son Joseph to him and his heirs for ever. And farther I give him the remainder part of my whole estate that I have not afore given to him and his heirs forever.--- I constitute and appoint Robert Downman, John Webb and Joseph Webb my executors of this my last will and testament in witness I have hereunto set my hand and seale this fifth day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty.--- In Presence Of Christopher Chinn Travers Downman
