About James Woods
James ‘Woodsy’ Woods, British freestyle skier, learnt to ski in Sheffield at the Sheffield Ski Village. He has Woodsy has become one of the world’s best Slopestyle freeskiers.
In summer 2012 he took second place at the FIS World Cup in Cardrona, New Zealand. This was followed by a season in which he third in the X Games in Aspen and was awarded the FIS Crystal Globe. Each year, the International Ski Federation awards the Crystal Globe to the best athlete in each discipline competing at World Cup level.
Woodsy also won a silver medal at the Freestyle World Championships, becoming only the second ever British medallist at World Championship level.
Slopestyle Skiing makes its debut at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics, which provides a huge opportunity for Woods to prove that he is one of (if not the) best in the world.
