Jan Bredenkamp (1947 - 2001)

Jan (54), died due to serious injuries to his head, on his farm Lindekweesfontein in Vredefort, Free State, on 1st September 2001. His girlfriend rushed him to hospital where he died.

Police spokesperson, Captain Pauline Earle said the farmer's girlfriend arrived about 15h30, and saw two windows were broken and Jan's car parked with its engine running. She went to a neighbouring farm for help. On returning, the farmer was found unconscious with head injuries.

A safe in the house appeared to have been moved, but not broken open.

Police are investigating a charge of murder. A reward of R20,000 has been offered for any information leading to an arrest.
