About Jan Jans Dorlandt
brief biography
In 1577 Jan Jans Dorlant was magistrate and also deputy Sheriff of Kotnhoef, and in 1579 Sheriff of Kortenhoef. He is mentioned in a peat journal there, 1594, and often appeared as an agent for others.
Jans made his will in 1595 as Jan Jans Zoen Dorrelant, "abed, lying ill, but well able to use memory and sense." This phrase, often used, was necessary to prevent other relatives from questioning his will. He was living in Loenen in 1642.
Jans Dorlandt died after 1642.
