However, from The Winona Republican Herald, an article dated Saturday, March 5, 1932 follows: John Walski, Winona's Oldest Resident Dies at age of 107 Death Takes Man Would Have Passed 108th Birthday April 1.

Winona's oldest citizen, John Walski, died this morning at 10 o'clock at the home of his son, George, 617 East Wabasha street, after an illness of eight weeks at the age of 107.
Mr. Walski would have celebrated his 108th birthday April 1, member of his family said today. He was born in Poland in 1824 and had lived in Winona 40 years.
Reading in his prayer book, a favorite pastime, had become difficult for him lately as were his trips to church because of his increasing fragility. He disliked seeing his strength go, strength which had made him "such a good worker" when he first came from Poland, that raised his wages to eight dollars a month.
From these wages in 1857, he saved enough to get a farm in Princeton, Wis. He lived there until 1879 when he moved to another farm in Big Tamarack, Trempealeau county. Soon afterward he moved to Winona, where he worked at the Laird Norton lumber yard. He had lived here since with the exception of three years on an Oregon fruit farm.
Mr. Walski outlived two wives and all but three of 13 children. His second wife died about nine years ago and his first wife, 54 years ago. He is survived by three sons, George, Winona, and Anton and Thomas, Galesville, Wis.; 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at the St. Stanislaus church, the Rt. Rev. J. W. J. Pacholski officiating. Preliminary services will be held at the home at 8:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery.

The above was first published Monday, May 28, 1928 on page 1 of the Winona Republican Herald, albeit without the death and funeral info...
