Lt. Col. Jan Monningh, U.S. Army Retired, age 68, of Locust Grove, Georgia, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005. He was born in Grand Rapids, a son of the late Cornelius Maxwell and Blanch Stebbins Monningh.
Lt. Col. Monningh served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was a member of the Anglican Church in America, the American Legion and VFW, a member of the Scottish Clan McKay, the Griffin Gun Club, and a Life Member of the National Rifle Association, and past president of the (GSSA) Georgia Sport Shooters Association.
He is survived by his wife Carlotta; children Maxwell Monningh, St. Charles, Ill., Maria Foran, Geneva, Ill; siblings Candace Goodyear, Charlottesville, Virginia, Fletch Monningh, Crystal Falls; and grandchildren Shannon Foran and Emma Claire Foran.
Funeral Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in McDonough, Georgia, with Father Warren Tanghe officiating.
