About Jane Allen
on March 7, 1737/38, MOSES entered into a marriage contract with Jane, the widow of John Hill, of Fairfield. MOSES died in Fairfield on Aug. 7, 1748. After MOSES' death, Jane Hill Dimon remained a widow only briefly. On Aug 3, 1749, she married her third husband, Lieutenant Gideon Allen, in Fairfield. Allen died in 1751, but Jane lived until July 22, 1774. She died in Redding, Connecticut at the age of 98.

Settled on the homestead in Fairfield and was one of the wealthy and influential citizens of the town.
No record of his first marriage can be found in Fairfield; it is, therefore, presumed that he was married in some other place.
His second and third wives are mentioned in the town records, and the following marriage agreement with Jane Hill, his third wife, may be of some interest:
" Marriage agreement between Moses Dimon and Jane Hill March 7th, 1738.
This indenture made between Moses Dimon of the Town and County of Fairfield in the Colony of Connecticut of the one part: and Jane Hill of said Fairfield, single woman, on the other part, witnesseth: that whereas there is a marriage agreed upon and shortly to be confirmed between the said Moses Dimon and Jane Hill. Now it is agreed by the said parties that after the confirma- tion of the said marriage of the said Moses Dimon shall have and hold all the money, goods credits and uses of lands that said Jane Hill now stands possessed of : and it is further agreed and con- sented to that after the marriage of the aforesaid if the said Moses Dimon happen to depart this transitory life before the said Jane then the said Jane shall have out of the estate of the said Moses Dimon (one hundred pounds current money of said Colony) and also the use of that half of the dwelling house where the said Moses Dimon now dwells and two barrels of cider yearly, and also use of half of the garden at the west end of the house and apples sufficient for her use, the time the said Jane continue the widow of the said Moses Dimon, and lib- erty of the use of the well. The same to be in lieu of any dower or any other demand out of the estate of the said Moses Dimon which the said Jane or any other person by, from or under her shall have. In confirmation whereof the parties have hereunto set their hands and seals of the day and year above written." Signed and sealed Moses Dimon. [seal. J

" Be it known to all men that I, Moses Dimon of the Town and County of Fairfield, and within named do oblige my heirs, execu- tors and administrators to pasture a cow in the summer and keep her with hay in the winter for the within named Jane Hill (if after the marriage within mentioned I should happen to depart this life before her) so long as she remains my widow, over and above what I have agreed to give her in the above-mentioned covenant as witness my hand and seal this 8th March, 1738."
